About the two posting?

By stargazing1 - on Oct 24, 2008
Posted in stargazing1

To All,

I know I have been on few times to post things about my troubles, and now I'm posting something that doesn't go with the situation. However, don't turn away yet, but check it out yourself and see what you think, and the good thing about it is that you don't have to reach in your pocket to start. If you haven't caught on yet, I'm saying its free. Read the posting and call the number and either ask question while you on the conference call or call me and I'll get someone on the phone to answer all your question. You ask why I said that for, and that's because I'm new to this and I'm relying on  someone who knows a little more than me to help you out to get started. So, Please go and listen to the calls and go from there. Thank you and have a nice day.

Sincerely,

Monique Ford

Okay, when I read your first post, I thought it said that he was a service man.  I did not realize he was OUT of the service. My bad.

Since, he was NO LONGER in the service, then I am sorry to tell you, there is no SGLI on him.  I do not know if he maintained the VGLI insurance.  To do so he would have been paying a nice sum each month to keep the policy.

Also, you would not be entitled to DIC.

Did your husband retire from the Marine Corp?  If he retired, you would be entitled to a monthly benefit check.

The VA does offer a widow's benefit for spouses.  However, it's based on income so therefore, you could only get so much.  If social security is more than the allowed amount, then you may or may not get it.  However, do contact the service organizations (such as DAV) for more assistance.

Sorry, I could not be more helpful,

Ekikaseven

Thank you very much for the info.  I will see what I can do o get these benifits. I'm no sure which base. He was out of the service when we met. I know that he went to Paris island.  He did one tour in Viet Nam.

And thanks again for your comments.  Debra

(1) Marines, like all other service members usually have SGLI insurance.  Our SGLI insurance is $400,000.(four-hundred thousand dollars).

Have you contacted the unit or SGLI to get this?  If not, do so ASAP.

(2) You are entitled to DIC.  This is where you will get a good percentage of your husband's paycheck for life or until you marry again.

If you are having problems in this matter, contact Base Legal for assistance.

(3) Did your husband die in combat?  If so, there may be additional funding.

If you are having problems navigating with any of the above entitlements, then contact a service organization such as the DAV or VFW.  They provide you with assistance.  There is no charge.

I am so sorry for the loss of your husband.  I pray that God will comfort you.

What military base was you & hubby stationed at?

March 31,2008.

My husband just passed away Janurary 11, 2008.  He was a service man, in the Marines.

We had no family or friends. He was my best friend and I was the same to him.  He left me with his social security, which is not enough to meet my monthly bills. I am still waiting on the Vetrens Ass. Who knows how long that will take. It could be a year before I hear from them.

But in the meanwhile I still need som financial HELP!  I am disabled and unable to work. But I sure wish I could do something, God knows I need it too.  Is there anyone out here tha can help me?  I have  no other place to turn but to God and all you kind folks who could assis me.  Thank you for giving me a way to express my needs. And God Bless Everyone.

Comment on: widow with small children in need of financial assistance

If you're disabled, and a widow, have you applied for Social Security Disability?  If you qualify by their deterimination, your children will also receive benefit check if they are under 18.  You need to contact the Social Security Administration, and they can take your application over the phone.  You may need to have a medical exam by one of their doctors, or if you have enough medical evidence with your own doctors, when they contact them, you may not need an exam.

You may qualify for Supplemental Security INcome also from the Social Security Administration, if you have a low income.  Food stamps, and Medicaid.

If that guy hit you broadside -- why don't you sue him?  Atleast you might get money for another car.  I'd contact an attorney -- most of them that handle accidents, will work for free, and only get paid if you get an award from the court.  check your phone booksand start calling.

Pay day loans only make the problem worse.  Try:

if you are on ANY  public assistance, check to see if there is emergency rental assistance available.

I am losing my house and everthing and cannot find any financial assistance. I was a hard working childrens hospice registered nurse before this happened. If you find any agencies that help please forward the information although my house , phone and internet will not be available for long. Update on my request for help

I just wanted to update my request for help from anyone on aidpage.I am still in need of assitance financially. But I have been on the internet constantly trying to apply for any kind of help that we can find!I am not looking for easy money.I have really been in a desperate situation! My husband tries so hard and we just keep getting further behind on our bills. He has found a decent job making pretty good money. It is very hard work and he is so exhausted when he comes home because of the heavy lifting he has to do all day.He never complains, just very sore and real quiet the rest of the afternoon.I don't know how long he can keep it up with his health not being that great anymore.I am trying to find a way out of our terrible situation. We have been in a bad loan from a predatory lender. We are trying every avenue that we can find to get out of this arm loan that we found ourselves locked into. The mortgage company has attempted in every way possible to take our home!We just hang on,but the future is bleak without some help! Our son,his fiance, and their little girl have had to move back in with us.Our son hasn't been able to find a job as of today yet.He has applied everywhere in our area but no one is hiring right now.The ones that were have already hired people to fill the possitions. So my husband has to support them as well as ourselves. If I could find assistance for us I would be so relieved!I am not able to help in any way because of being disabled. And believe me I wish there was a way for me to work and help our finances.I am currently trying for any organization or charity that I can find to plead for help.I have exhausted any means that I could in the quest for help.If any one out there can help in whatever way please contact me.My efforts to get relief for my husband are boundless. We have been together over half of my life!(I am 43)I could not have asked for a better husband or a more caring father for our children.I would go to the ends of the earth to save my husband from pain and heart ache!If you can please help out another's need for help.Know that we would never be ungrateful or unappreciative of any persons knowledge or attempts to give advice or donations. We are honest people who are now in bad need ourselves.

Comment on: Money to pay tax and medical bills

Dear Soulight: The more I read, the more I feel that most of the people with true need would benefit greatly from your aidpages if only they read them. They are so helpful, they should have a front page hyper link right above the browse picture section. Maybe this should be suggested to Emil and the Wizard. I think that most people in despair are already exhausted by time they find this page and believe that once posted, help will find them and they get lost or disillusioned when they do not get a reply and then retreat into?????????? A link to your pages would save so many. Please remember to thank Soulight for all of her time and effort! See http://helpful-aidpages-by-s oulight.app-sl-1.aidpage.com/h elpful-aidpages-by-soulight/ Blessings, Elaine

You should have listened to the 419 scam warnings you were sent. You were told this was a ripoff but didn't listen. What makes you think there is 10 million sitting in a bank account for you? Greed? If it sounds to good to be true then it usually is. Google "419 scams" and educate others.

I keep getting email from companies that want me to do a pay day loan.  I keep ignoring the urge but it just might come to that.  I know that my story sounds like the commercial "I am in debt up to my ears.  Won't someone please help me."  Well it is very true.  And it is not a commercial.

Winter: Your daughters are very beautiful indeed. Just a thought...does your county or city have a back-to-school program where they give out free backpacks full of school supplies?? I know that is just a minor issue but it would be one less thing to worry about. Also you may want to check out the homepage of "Who Knew" she is a very resourceful individual and may be able to point out some other resources....Don't give up....I did the same thing....went to school on government funds w/2 young children...you won't regret it when you do finally finish...it is a great accomplishment.

Single Mother With Children's Birthdays Coming Soon

By Winter - on Jul 20, 2006
Posted in Winter

Hi all,

I'm not sure how this page works, but I found this by searching online because I am extremely desperate at the moment. I am a single mother of two beautiful daughters, age 3 & 8 (soon to be 9 & 4) in the next couple of months. I am a full time student, so right now I have no time to work. I am completely broke being a student. Federal funds only pay me $292 a month. I am about to lose my home, I just got the first decent running car of my life & someone wrecked it while it was parked on the street. Ugh, liability insurance of course so no way to fix my car. My daughters' birthdays are August 8th & September 8th. School is coming up and my oldest will be in 3rd grade (I can't believe she's growing so fast) and my baby will be starting Head Start (I'm going to miss her). I have no money for the birthdays, school supplies, to fix my car, for bills, I can't remember the last time I bought anything for myself. I just want my daughters to have a decent birthday, decent school clothes and supplies, and I want to catch up on my bills, and fix my car. I hate asking for money, it can be so degrading sometimes as a single parent. You want to provide a certain life for your kids and just cannot sometimes. Very hard to swallow as a parent of any kind I'm sure. The amount I'm asking for may seem large, but compared to what needs to be taken care of soon on my end, I won't have any left over for pleasure. Anything will help though, absolutely any amount at this point. I'm not sure how this site works, but I'm so glad I found it, and thank you so much in advance if anyone wants to lend a helping hand to me and my children. I will be forever grateful! Have a blessed day everyone, and good luck to everyone else on this page that is seeking help. I know how hard it is to even ask.

The amount I have come up with to help fix my car, my daughters' birthdays, bills, and school clothes/supplies is (embarrassed to type it) $7,000. I hate to put down that amount because it looks HUGE on here, but trust me, it will all be used for necessities. Thank you again so much.
